The Appalachian Mountains have long been fertile ground for imaginative regional authors. Five well-respected Kentucky authors, Gurney Norman, George Ella Lyon, Crystal Wilkinson, Anne Shelby, and Leatha Kendrick, recently conducted workshops in five rural Eastern Kentucky libraries as part of the Appalachian Circuit Writers Project.
